Summit County, Ohio, offers a variety of resources to help victims through their recovery.

Victim Assistance Program collaborates with local organizations to ensure all victims have access to the same level of care. Services are provided to ALL victims of crime and trauma regardless of their race, sex, age, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, ability to speak English, or disability. As the need for assistance is so great, there are services that are offered in collaboration with other organizations.

Advocates from Battered Women’s Shelter and Rape Crisis Center also provide court advocacy in the municipal and domestic relations courts. The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office provides victim witness advocates to assist victims through the felony court process.

The four agencies are arranged to provide a full spectrum of advocacy – without duplication of services – based on victimization, the crime and court locations. Victim Assistance Program maintains formal and informal collaborations with many other organizations throughout Summit County.
