Open Position: Marketing Coordinator Victim Assistance Program 501(c)(3) located in Akron, Ohio, has been serving Summit County victims of crime and trauma since 1972. The organization is home to a team of energetic and compassionate workers, interns, and volunteers. The team is seeking an individual to fill the open full time position of Marketing Coordinator with occasional after hour responsibilities. Position Summary: Implement and execute annual marketing plans and needs of the agency by sharing “our story” through various mediums to increase the community’s awareness of victimizations, agency services, financial and volunteer needs. Primary Position Responsibilities: Design professional, culturally competent marketing pieces including but not limited to signage, banners, brochures, advertising pieces, video clips, etc. Compose monthly e-newsletters, blogs, social media, website, mailed campaigns, annual reports etc. Develop and cultivate relations with local media outlets. Generate and distribute press releases and stories to targeted audiences to increase the likelihood of publication of newspaper articles, radio spots, blogs, and or media coverage of agency events and community involvement. Manage official website, including writing blog posts and other new content. Manage online brand and social media presence and develop new ideas to engage targeted audiences. Obtain photographs, video clips, interview pieces to use for future marketing pieces. Use analytics reporting to determine effectiveness of multi-channel marketing efforts and recommend improvements. Assist Directors in crafting and editing written documents including but not limited to job postings, thank-you letters, PowerPoint presentations, Learning Management System, etc. Attend community sponsored events and marketing opportunities (booths). Ensure marketing materials are professionally displayed and distributed at booths/events. Engage in discussion with individuals approaching marketing booths. Essential Skills and Experience: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, on budget and before deadline. Ability to think strategically and analytically. Ability to communicate to others the mission and services provided by VAP passionately and articulately. Advanced computer design skills including Adobe Creative Cloud Apps (InDesign, Photoshop, PremierPro). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords or similar tools. Represent the mission and philosophy of the agency in a professional manner. Respect the confidentiality of information learned through one’s employment. Superb writing and editing skills. Very strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
