VICTIM ASSISTANCE PROGRAM REMEMBERS
VICTIMS AT ANGEL TREE CEREMONY ON DECEMBER 7
The Victim Assistance Program will hold the
15th Annual Angel Tree Ceremony and Homicide Memorial Service on
Monday, December 7, 2008 from 6:00-7:15 pm. The ceremony will
be held in the Atrium of the Oliver Ocasek Building at 161 S.
High Street in Akron. The Angel Tree Ceremony is an
opportunity for family and friends of homicide victims to
remember their loved ones by displaying photographs and memorial
angels on a tree. The Angel Tree Ceremony is free and open to
the public. Survivors may donate a picture (5x7) for permanent
placement on the display by calling Victim Assistance Program at
330-376-0040. The “Wall of Remembrance” will be on display
throughout the holiday season. For further information, please

Victim’s Rights: Every Victim Every Time”
The Victim Rights Week commemorations focus on the experiences
of victims as they share their journeys through the valley of
violence. Please join us as we locally initiate Victim Rights

HELP PROVIDE A SPECIAL HOLIDAY FOR
OUR FAMILIES
Victim Assistance
Program and Furnace Street Mission will be providing holiday
baskets on December 22 to victims of crime and trauma in Summit
County. Staff members identify 150 families who have displayed
the greatest need for assistance throughout the year. Officers
from local law enforcement departments will deliver the baskets
that include a complete holiday meal and toys for the children.
Baskets are provided as a way of letting the victims know that
the harm caused by crime is not forgotten at this special time
of the year Monetary donations are welcome! Please send your
